50i M2TS files

I have a commercial Blue-ray disk with M2TS files in the Stream folder. The disk is meant to be played in a BD player but in this instance the format is 50i since it came from the UK. I have tried to capture the video and also import the files into VS. I had no luck with either. For capture I get the message "There is no valid content". When trying to insert the file into the timeline I get "Unable to open file... File format mismatch". Any solutions to this? Or is it not possible with this disk. Thanks.

Have you tried simply copying the various files in the STREAM sub-folder on the Blu-Ray disk to your computer? They will usually be named something like 00000.m2ts, 00001.m2ts etc. They are valid video files in their own right and you should be able to insert them like any other video file into VS for editing.

If the disc is Copywrite then video studio will not import the files, I also think you will also have problems using the pc to do that.

Yes. The disk is copyright. Hmmm! I just wanted to watch it, not make money off it! I guess there's nothing I can do.

There are a number of programs -- all of them costing money -- which will do what you want. But VS is not one of them...
