Text and shape cutter tool in X8
I have tried to follow a tutorial found here-http://learn.corel.com/tutorials/text-a ... tter-tool/
• and got as far as “Re position the text with the pick tool and apply a layer style by double clicking on the layer” near the end
• It then goes on to state “Add an outer glow to make the text stand out”
• But I cannot clearly see how they describe how to do this- can someone explain please

When you double click on the layer it should bring up the Layer Properties dialog. If you don't get this, right-click on the layer and select "Properties".

Inside the Layer Properties dialog click on the "Layer Styles" tab. You'll see several possible layer effects on the left hand side. To turn one on click on the checkbox next to the effect name. In this case "Outer Glow" this places a soft edge of any color you want around the layer. Select the Outerglow text as well to see the outerglow options. You can then adjust the size, and opacity of the glow to fit your tastes. In the video they show decreasing the size of the outer glow. use the color box to change the color.
