VS x5 pro

VS x5 will not run. Have uninstalled and reinstalled with no success. Under Corel, paint shop pro shows up in my appdata, but not vs. I do not see ulead systems either. I may have deleted ulead from my registry long ago, however, shouldn't reinstalling VS from the disk place it back in the registry? Used the cleanup tool, but it stated that it could not find the program. Downloaded service patches for VS 5, but the patches cannot determine the version of the program, therefore, they fail.
