File I/O Error

Post by Hidden Desk »

Hope someone can help. Test driving Corel x8 and am having issues with exporting files reusing existing file names. Keep getting the error "File I/O Error: Either insufficient disk space, or sharing violation" when trying to overwrite an existing file. Then when I click OK and try and export again the file has been deleted. Am having the same problem with Corel x7 exporting JPEGS but am not get any error messages, the file would just disappear which is why I am trying 8.

Very frustrating as I do not like filling up disk space and use a small handful of files to transfer data between the sign software that I use in one convenient folder. Really want to upgrade to 8 as 7 seems to have other issues Windows 10 that are long to list. Version 8 seems to run well so far with no crashes which is a switch.

Have you tried running the program as Windows Administrator? Right-click on the shortcut to start PSP and click on Run as Administrator.
It sounds like you may have conflicts of user rights in folders.

Normally I would look at that but for this system I am the administrator. Like I mentioned the really odd thing is that the file gets deleted as well. And it is a fairly new computer so compatibility issues/problems with Windows 10 are not supposed to exist.
