Clip Selection
I have downloaded some video and it is in the edit window where the clips show in the library. Some have a black and white box in the left corner. these are able to be selected and moved into the Timeline by shift clicking. However, the clips with a yellow box in the left corner of the clip won't appear in the Timeline and I get a message 'The content of these files are unreadable'. All these files are from the same camera video recorder and are in the same file and have all been imported at the same time. Can you advise please? Thank you, Rolly

Re: Clip Selection
The yellow box shows that the files is no longer where they should be.
Have you actually copy those files from your camcorder to your PC?

Re: Clip Selection
Hi Rolly
I would suspect the video is corrupt or using a Codec that VideoStudio does not recognise.
Hence the reason for the message ”The content of these files are unreadable”
If it were a re-link problem then you would not have received that message, the program not knowing where the file is, so how does it know its unreadable?
When you say Downloaded some video, do you mean downloaded from the internet, but then you mention that the files are from the same camera.
Can you give more details regarding that camera?
What method did you use to get the video from the camera to the PC, how did you connect the camera?
Sometimes video and audio streams could be transferred as a separate file, the audio file may look like a video file, that could cause the program to be confused.
Are you able to right click the clip and choose properties, what are they?
Otherwise view the details via windows explorer, maybe using Media Info.

Re: Clip Selection
Thank you for that information. 'Properties' is greyed out so no help there. I have had this file opened before and worked on it without a problem. I suspect it may be a codec problem, maybe corrupted but that is something beyond my capabilities to rectify. Is there a programme that can read all video recording and make it accessible to VS.? Re: Clip Selection
Hi Rolly
Are you able to upload the video to a sharing site, assuming it is not to large.
Microsoft One Drive, Google Drive or DropBox work well and all free to use.
We can then check the file for you
I did mention a program called Media Info, that should read the full details.

Re: Clip Selection
Thanks for all your help. As luck would have it I found a copy of the original video and am able to edit from that. Many thanks, Rolly.
