Videostudio9 Chapters question

Post by DavidGreensmith »

I want to be able to chapter a video clip without having submenus for these chapters appearing on the DVD. I am sure I have managed to do this before, but must have set something that prevents this from working.

I want to have just top level menu items (i.e. the various individual video files) to select for "play" :?: but still be able to use the forward/backward buttons. When the Create Disc wizard takes me to the preview, it greys out the the controls and the FF/RW buttons o nthe control remote.

Have tried various things - rebooting PC, new project with nothing in the time line. Nothing seems to work.

Have you tried ticking the "hide chapter" option? That should hide the chapters during play.
As for the FF/RR buttons on the control remote, I've never seen those and any of the number buttons functional in VS9. I don't know how, or if it is possible to do that with VS9.

Split the video into seperate clips and insert them into the title list. The first main menu is for titles so if each segment is it's own video file then they will each have a button on the main menu. Make sure your navigation control is set to play next clip when title ends.

Vidoman - the "hide chapters" in the advanced button did the trick. When the disc was burned and played in the home DVD player it worked great and was chaptered correctly, but didn't show a sub-menu.

I think what threw me was that the video remote in the preview didn't show the chaptering and wouldn't allow me to fast forward or rewind. Odd that you have never seen this work, I would swear that it has worked for me previously although no longer, apparently.

Animechick - thanks for your suggestion too. I'll try that as well to see which gives me the result closest to what I want.
