But what I was also clumsily expressing was that X10 (Trial) allows you to buy extra 7x NewBlue Filters (including Paint Effects) (+ some Templates/Overlays/Transitions/Special offers) at a reasonable price – if you wanted any of these extras.

This is not available in X9U

and nor have I been able to find anywhere on the website that gives this same (Filters) price offer!

Quick question for Ken Berry: You state that Corel appears to have jumped the gun on the VS Ultimate X10 release. Reading between the lines, does this mean that if I successfully purchase an upgrade to X10 today, do you believe that I will be supplied a link to download a fully-working paid version today? Have other purchasers already received the official release version of VS Ultimate X10?

Follow-up question for any VS guru: If I upgrade to VS X10, will I still be able to fall back to VS X9 whenever I like? I recognize that only a single version of VS may be running at a time. I have just installed ServicePark4 for X9 and would not wish to uninstall X9.

The pre-release offer certainly includes immediate download and installation, so no worry on that score. When talking about Corel jumping the gun, I was only trying to make a distinction between those existing users who got the pre-release offer (which lasts until 28 February) and the now fully public release of X10.

As to your second question, there is no need to uninstall X9. Each version, even when bought for an upgrade price, is fully independent. Quite a few of us have several versions of VS installed on the same computer. The only pressing need to uninstall any of them relates to how much hard drive space you have available.

I tried every single Corel coupon and they were all rejected on a new release.

An hour later, I received an email invitation from Corel to return to my shopping cart and save an extra 10%. I have not tested that extra 10% coupon with VS X10 Ultimate yet. Their email read:

I got this offer, too. I looked everywhere and it does not say that it cannot be combined with sale prices or other offers. The only thing in my cart was VS X10 Ultimate so they are clearly saying they are offering an additional 10% off the $59.99.

FYI they won't honor the discount they offered with that email, it's a scam.

Um, look for the * then scroll down to the fine print which states:

"*Excludes the following products: VideoStudio, subscription, Wacom tablets and bundles"
