I just received an upgrade email from Corel for X10 Ultimate. I can pre-order the upgrade for $59.99USD.

Ditto for me. Pop-up happened on start. Would have been nice if all those "new" features were exposed as a list (even as intents, please test) during the beta cycle. I can recall mention of 1 or 2, but not that many.

Obviously it's a pop-up offering X10 for a reduced start-up price, though with a delay before it is ready for distribution.

However, like you I have received neither a Corel email or pop-up despite opening and closing both X9 (fully updated) and X8 several times a day already.

The pop-up was a little box about the size of a postage stamp at the RH end of the system tool bar, lasted about 20 sec, on start after the main win 7 desktop has established.

It is BCC10, but be aware that it is a plug-in and will therefore, not be the full version, but watered down, to what extent we do not know at this time

I am getting the pop-up as well on start up. It was a little box about 1 inch by 1 inch just above the system tool bar, and lasted about 20 sec...

Also does anyone know of any better deals available yet? Last year there was a further discounted price about a week after the "early announcement"...

The US$ 59.99 price for VS X10 Ultimate will be offered for the entire month of February. Here's the fine print:

With previous VS versions, I have waited a few weeks to purchase the upgrade and was eventually offered the same upgrade for around US$50 by using a coupon code. None of the current coupon codes that I tried would work with this particular offer.

I do think the $49.99USD offer is more than a "few weeks" from the release of the product. I've gotten them in the past, and will probably get them in the future too. Unless this release "tanks" badly, maybe a few months away that offer will appear. When things slow down in sales.
If you think the feature set is compelling enough to buy, it's only $10 more and you get to use the product now instead of "weeks" later. But if you can wait, sure!

I see an orange ribbon stating "Pre-Release Special" by following your link. I see no indication of the release date.

If I would be paying $59.99 today and still be waiting for a future date to download VS X10 Ultimate, I'd rather wait a few days or weeks before I order.

If Corel should release the upgrade download during the month of February, I'll likely accept their $59.99 offer before February 28, 2017 at midnight EST.

BTW, when I launched VS X9 Ultimate today and went to the Help drop-down menu to "Check for updates", the window that opened showed "Upgrade to Video Studio Ultimate X10." I did not launch that update, but I assume the actual upgrade is not yet released.

@mrbobbell... I think the release will be next month. They are advertising the pre-order until the end of February. I guess after that, the upgrade price will be $79.99. At least according this the email I received.
I am sure that there will be other sales as others have posted above, including something like a $50USD upgrade much later on.
But I'm not one to "wait" to save $10. It will be interesting to see what the "new" addons bring to the table.

But, the NewBlue video essentials you get with ultimate.. are these the same as the ones you can purchase in "download more content" screen?
