Re: Show only sections of DVD
You seem to have some very fussy friends Ken - why can't they just fast forward through the bits they don't want to see
but I would say the easiest way would be to re-open your original project then do a "Save As" - giving it a slightly different name - just in case something untoward happens and you will still have the original - then delete the scenes your friend does not want to see - leaving only the ones they do - then proceed to burn a new DVD from that using your usual procedure

Re: Show only sections of DVD
Perhaps I have given the wrong impression Brian. The situation is that this DVD was made to cover events over a month that took place in a Church and covered official openings with” long” speeches by officials and charitable events and services. I have been asked to “edit” the DVD to show only the bits that are of interest to different parties. I think they want a finished article where they can insert a disc and just show the bits they are interested in with no fast forwarding and no gaps etc as it will be shown before an audience on a projector.
So does this change your perception on the issue? I thought answers would be along the lines of importing the disc and using the preview range to render but of course I am here to get the best advice

Re: Show only sections of DVD
Well if you only wanted to extract one section then perhaps the preview range might be the best way - but as you wish to change a number of sections I still think the best option is to make a copy of your project - - by doing a "save as" to a new name - then editing that as you wish before creating a new DVD

Re: Show only sections of DVD
Hi Kenneth
If you were to render each section to a new video file, maybe 8 separate shorter videos.
You could then burn those to a disc.
The Main / Title menu would contain 8 thumbnails / or text links, allowing you to choose any to play.
If the navigation controls are set to “back to menu” then the disc would play the selected video, then return back to the menu allowing you to choose another video/title
Is that the type of thing you need?
If you run a test you can burn to an ISO file, that will play using VLC Player to test before committing to disc, saves on those coasters.

Re: Show only sections of DVD
I would need to make one DVD where all the parts would show consecutively one after the other with no menus as if it was one whole film

Brian described exactly what to do in his 1st post above. When burning to DVD simply "disable" the menu creation.
No need to "import" from the DVD unless you deleted your original project file and the source videos.
