Analogue to digital convertors
I have a Canopus convertor which my computer fails to recognise. Can you advise on possible solutions or recommend a convertor? The ones I have found on the internet seem very cheap. Roy

Which model and how do you connect to your computer?
I use a Grass Valley ADVC 110 which I connect to my computer via Firewire IEEE1394 cable

Re: Analogue to digital convertors
Hi
I used a USB capture device called Ezcap, that seemed to work ok for me.
View this post referring to that capture device.

I also have a Mini DV camcorder that has what is know as Passthrough capability aka Throughput.
Effectively using the camcorder as an Analogue to Digital converter, out of the two the better option. Connect composite cables to camera A/V input, output via “DV out” using firewire to pc.

Re: Analogue to digital convertors
Most (all?) Canopus converters of which I am aware use Firewire. So can you confirm your computer has a Firewire port? If so, then the failure of VS to "see" the Canopus could be because of the "new" or updated Firewire driver inserted by Microsoft. You would need to reactivate the old or "legacy" driver. Here are the instructions for doing so: http://myvideoproblems.com/ProblemPages ... tureW7.htmRollason wrote:I have a Canopus convertor which my computer fails to recognise.
