New user looking for help with the Interface

Post by e_a_g_l_e_p_i »

Hello,
I just bought PaintShop Pro X9 Ultimate, I should also tell you I own the Adobe CS5 Suite. One thing I dislike about Adobe is all the programs have gray interfaces and they are very hard to see unless I set my resolution so high that It makes the rest of my desktop or other things like websites huge.

A simple question I hope, can you adjust the size of the Paint Shop Pro X9 Ultimate interface. I would like to be able to see the tools and menus. After a while looking at everything I can find it appears that it is like Photoshop and the interface is not adjustable, I hope it is adjustable..

Thanks
Joelle

You can change the colour:

In the Edit Workspace: View>Workspace Color>Dark Grey/Medium/Light.

Windows provides the capability of adjusting the size of the display - I wonder if this is what you are looking for. I don't remember where it is in Win 7 but I think it is in the same area of Windows preferences as the screen saver settings. Because of the native resolution of my monitor I have the display set at 125% and had the same setting in Win7.

Mark -- I think you will find it in Control Panel > Display > Change Size of Items > Set a custom scaling level. I might note that this latter is followed by "Not recommended"!!

Thanks Ken. It sounds as if it is the same location in both Win7 and Win10. Although when I go into the Settings directly in Win 10 rather than via Control Panel it takes me a while to find my way through the jungle.

I've used the 125% setting in Win7 and 10 and have had very few problems with it. Perhaps it's "not recommended" because there is an occasional glitsch - but at least I can see what is displayed. There was a problem with some PSP tools where the dialog boxes cut off some portions of the display. But those items were fixed and I expect there should be fewer issues as time passes.
