loose dvd quality when burning

Post by richard_millar »

I am using Ulead Videao Studio 8. Everything goes fine until I burn the completed video. hen I come to play the dvd the quality is not dvd. When I check it has been imported the quality is fine. Only once I have burned it does the quality go. Does anyone have any ideas that could help?

1) what are the properties of your source videos :?:

2) how long is the total running time :?:

3) what are your project properties, and did the program re-encode, or did it use your source videos "as is" :?:

4) where do you see the problem -- playback on computer, or playback in a dvd player to your tv (or both) :?:

The video is being taken from a digital camera using firewire and the capture part of Ulead. When captured it is fine. The quality is great. It is great all the way through. As soon as I burn it to DVD and play it on either dvd in pc or on a dvd player the quality is like a video. It has only just started happening.

sorry, you're not really providing alot of detailed info, so it's tough to see where it could be going wrong

Have you looked at the sticky post at the top of this forum for some direction on how to proceed?

Are you capturing mpeg or dv .avi's?

What type of disc are you creating -- VCD/SVCD/DVD?
