Are these Instant project VSP files usable?
Hi
I do not normally use Instant projects, but I was looking at some VSP files in the following folder and tried to open them by clicking on the file, but I got the message that they were in use. I also tried to open the file from Open File menu inside VS and got a similar message. I dragged the VSP into VS and I could play the VS file but of course it was as a finished project and not editable. There is a list of instant projects in this folder, but I could not associate the file names with the instant project names that come up when selecting Instant Projects from the lists inside VS. Can anyone tell me if these VSP files can be opened and used? files located at:
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio X9\EditingStyle\InstantProject\Project-07 as example
Thanks

Re: Are these Instant project VSP files usable?
Me again, since looking further at the Instant Projects available inside VS I see the files I have referred to are in the CUSTOM folder but when opened do not operate as Instant Projects. What are these for?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Are these Instant project VSP files usable?
Mystery solved. The files are typical finished projects to show what the output will be like when selecting the projects in FAST FLICK

But you know you can re-edit them in VS to your needs.alanball wrote:Mystery solved. The files are typical finished projects to show what the output will be like when selecting the projects in FAST FLICK

Not necessarily only in fast flick Alan
if you look again in the folder you indicated at - -
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio X9\EditingStyle\InstantProject\Project-07
you will see that in fact there is only one .vsp file in there - you should not try to open that by double clicking or whatever in Windows file explorer - it is not designed to be opened that way - - OR by using "file >> open project" in Videostudio
first you can use any of the jpegs in there inside Videostudio should you wish to - they are just plain jpegs
The correct way to use the files in that folder is to open Videostudio and click on the 'Instant projects" icon (second down - magic wand) - then choose the 'Custom' library folder - in there you will find the project-07 listed
I find the best way to use those is to simply drag the thumbnail from the library down into the timeline - where it becomes editable just like all the other instant projects - but it uses jpegs instead of plain placeholders
you can change the photos there to any of yours by dragging your photo over any of the ones in the timeline - AND HOLDING DOWN Ctrl as you release the left button on the mouse - this will replace the supplied jpeg with yours at exactly the same duration - so that all the effects applied to the template still work in the correct sequence and timings

Re: Are these Instant project VSP files usable?
Hi asik1 and Brian
thanks for replies. Yes asik1 I did know the Fast Flick could be modified in VS, friends brought 80 photos taken at an 80th Birthday party and I produce a DVD while they were visiting using Fast Flick, they were amazed at the result in such a short time that it took to produce it.
That's what started me looking into the files more closely. By the way asik1, how do you put the grey outline around my quote in your reply?
Thanks Brian for you input. I did drag the Project-07 from Custom library folder into the time line but when I saw the jpeg's I didn't think I would be able to override them without losing any filters that may have been applied, I will take another look at it.
While looking at the content of those instant project folders for Fast Flick I played some of the music files and thought some were quite nice, so I copied them and put them in a separate folder for future use.
Again thank you both for your input.

Re: Are these Instant project VSP files usable?
If you use the Quote button, it will reproduce the whole of a post. In reality, most of us only want to quote a smaller part of a post. To o this you can of course simply delete out those parts of the quote you don't want.
I do it slightly differently. When about to write an answer I highlight and Copy (Ctrl+C or right click > Copy) that part of the post I want to quote, then press the Quote button. I get (quote)(/quote) (where the brackets are square rather than rounded). I Paste the quote in between. Then after the first (quote) I manually add ="alanball". The equal sign = and the quotation marks " " must be there.
After Submitting, you get
