A student of mine appealed for help with a VS project, re 2 issues I've never come across before. This is the 1st. I'm seeking advice as to what might have been the cause.
His vsp project file(multiple clips) played without sound.
Long distance (via email) diagnosis indicated his X9 was up to date, and progressive removal of clips etc one by one had no effect on the play result. Eventually he got back to nothing in it, and started again with a new file, which worked/played fine. So whatever it was seemed to be in the bones of the vsp itself.
Any ideas as what he could have done to cause this?

David -- you need to give us an idea of what the video format was, and what format the audio element of it was. And the obvious question, if, for instance, it is .mov, is whether he has the latest Quicktime codec installed...

He's re-built from scratch (a new vsp) and rendered OK. So whatever caused this, seems to be independent of format's or filetypes.
I think it must have been some unusual key selection, but I have no idea at all what it might have been. I've posted because whatever student's have done can be done by someone else, and I'd like to know what it was.
