Using serial# on new laptop

Post by djmitch091 »

Hello everyone,

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I'm new to the forum and didn't find anyone that had already asked it. I have a new boxed copy of VideoStudio Pro X9, I'm about to install it on my clunky old Toshiba laptop just to see if it works. It a month or two I plan on purchasing a new laptop. My question: will I be able to reinstall this software on a new laptop using the same serial number? Or will it conflict with the copy that I've installed on my current laptop even after I uninstall it?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the forum!

You will not have any trouble at all. The End User Licence Agreement says you can only install on one computer, but don't worry about a midnight knock on the door by the Corel licensing police! If you uninstall VS on your old computer, and install on a new one, there will be no problem. You will still be asked to register, which you can do if you want, but if you already registered the product on your old computer, there is no need to do it again. However, if you do in fact register a second time, it has been my experience that no questions are asked and you will just get an email acknowledging the second registration in exactly the same terms as the first email you receive on registration...

If its "clunky old Toshiba laptop" what exactly you want X9 to work with?
If it's XP , X9 won't install.

I suppose it's not as clunky as I made it sound, it runs Windows 7, but it just has a lot of issues and is in serious need of a replacement.

With your current setup you could have problems with mp4 and AVCHD, make sure you have Smart Proxy enabled

I think with my current setup I may have problems with just about everything, I don't plan on doing much editing until I upgrade my system, I just wanted to play around with the software on my current laptop to familiarize myself with it.
