Font not working

I am using VS x9 pro. on Win 10. I have downloaded and installed a font which appears in the text dropdown box and it shows the font style. However when I select this font the text does not get formatted. When I use other programs (Word, Powerpoint) the text is displayed properly.

Is a normal .ttf?

I know from using Corel Painter '15 and it gets fussy with some post-script & open type ( .ptf & .otf) text extensions...

...or if you got the .ttf from one of those 12-bazzilion-fonts-for-free kinda places alot of times their texts can be slightly corrupted also making them fussy or incomplete... Try uninstalling the font ... do a quick restart, then re-install it. Then do a complete shutdown & restart so it's in the registry proper and then see if it works in VS...

If it still isn't working? re-download it again and try again... If after 3 tries it still doesn't work? ...Find a different font to use.
(I kinda have a 3 strikes and you're out mentality)

Another option OBB is to let us know what font is it.

OBB, the font is Bang Bang ttf font — Created in 2005 by ATRAX . Tried all your suggestions still not working, I guess I will look for another one.

Strange, but you are correct
I didn't dive deep into it yet but indeed it will not show correctly in VS titler.
But... it will in those 2 FX's titlers

Yes I can confirm that VS text editor does not display the font correctly.
Like Asik using NewBlue Titler and Boris Graffiti seems ok.

Yet my Word program shows the same as Video Studio, a plain font?

I have Corel Photo Impact that works ok as does PSP, showing the font correctly

I had once a problem with an Hebrew font showing as blank in the VS list , so I had to edit the font file to correct it.
