2sec is what I'm used to because I have VS11.5 on an old Core2Duo and that's normal there. You can imaging if I have 100 cuts and it takes 30 sec each cut, that's 50min waiting

Most of the programs I have don't run in the background, ie electronics programs.

The biggest processor usage is the browser. Other things running are AVG, WinFast PVR(TV).

The thing I notice is that when it's thinking most of the CPUs are flat out. Can someone open their Task Mang and check it when cutting the clip.

Don't tell me it's not the trial because I have that Amazon one coming - $51AUD -. because now I really have to sort this out.

So what's different, cannuck does not appear to have any response issues, yet running your clip again on my system, there is definitely a response issue of up to 2 sec after multiple cuts have been made.
With your clip, Task Manager shows a max CPU usage of 23% but most cuts where around the 10% mark
With my own clips, where multiple cuts are instant, max CPU usage was 10%, but most where in the 3-5% range

The first few cuts where there is no lag it's 10-20% but when I say waiting at 0:20sec the CPU adv jumps to 70%. If you look at the actual graphs 3 of them are 90%, It's the waiting stage that max's the CPUs.

You can see when I play the clip at 1:30 it drops to 10% but then up again when I select a new start.

on my humble system with 19.2 most of the cuts are immediate and few with some lag but not as much as 2sec, 1 may be.
** Why do you screen capture at 60P ? this is an overkill for such low movement content.

*** But... I did noticed a considerable lag when I try to scroll the timeline scaling from 2sec> 5frm after a cut.
and it's even with my own mts clips ,
I'll do a test on another editors.

**** So, I tried your clip in 2 editors, the first was able to multiple cuts in a snap but few times the scroller jumps to other part of the clip right after a cut was made. The second editor behave much like you claim VS is doing.

****** A third editor just don't care about your clip, it can split like crazy. Of course I tested only cuts I don't know what other aspects you want to do with your clips.

I loaded X7 on an old AMD with Vista32 and it has a 2sec delay(40%cpu), which is still quite usable, and X7 on a old Core2Duo with XP 32 and it had no delay(perfect).

There is no way my much more powerful i7 should be maxing out at 90% waiting for a cursor to move.

Make sense to me, XP is leaner and better than 7.

It's official, X9 has a fault.

I got an early drive image of my system with nearly no extra programs loaded and put it on another drive - same specs as the box over on the right ----------->
Disconnected my usual SSD and plugged in this new drive, and booted from it.

Installed X7 and it worked prefect.
Installed X9 and same lagging with high CPU reading when it's confused.

It is not official - I used VS X9.5 on your file and do not have your problem.

If some people have problems and there is no work-around I'd say it was a bug, because the program is not catering for all situations.

X7 is fine, so what's the difference that makes X7 work and not X9.

Tell me what you have that I don't and maybe I can get it running.

Seems like no-one even has any suggestions for me to try, so I'd say that it is so deep that it's a bug because what could be getting it so confused that CPU is off the charts when the same PC with X7 barely reaches 14%.

If every trial version of X9 had a problem it would be fine, but the other guy with the problem has a full version, so it must be something else.

EDIT
Same lagging problem in X8 so it's something they changed there.

Old gray you are correct, X8& X9 has bugs so will X10 and surly X11 & X12 in the future
The issue is that those bugs effect different users at different time with different clips.

Yeah, but since I paid for it I would like a usable version.

It doesn't seem to be the clip because other people have no problems, and since it's not working on 2 of my Win7 PCs it would seem to be the program.

I've been here a long time and I know what Corel is like - I submitted a file 4 years ago and it took them 2 years to get back to me -, I just want ideas to get it working because it is unusable at the moment.

My E8500 Core2Duo with Win7 64 is even worse with maybe 1 min lag per cut and the CPU stuck on 100%.

Are there any clues here.

https://youtu.be/SecJSIbub64

Am I missing a program here.
Image

Maybe I'm missing a hotfix. How do I work that out.

The other guy with the problem has Win10, which always has every hotfix, so i don't know if it's that.
