Just curious: When I click resize for a jpg image, I get the regular resize window, then I am able to make my choices. But, ... when I bring up a png, and click resize, then this large, strange resize window that is empty except for labels. This one takes at least 1/3 of my screen. My problems begin here with the png.

Is it that PNGs cannot be resized in PSP? I can in Photoshop 5.5 and IrfanView and I was able to do so in the trial of ACDSee Pro. So, why does it go crazy when I try to re-size a png?

PSP Pro x9 19.1.0.29 x64
Windows7 Pro
(As I wrote above, all I do is just click "Image/Resize". I "never" have a chance to select anything (if trying to work on a png).

Could you show what you see with a screen capture?

I see this when wanting to resize a .png. (Shift+S)
Image-Resize.jpg

I use PSPX9 32-bit (as some plugins don't work in the 64-bit version, so am sticking with the 32-bit).

PrintScreen after I only clicked "resize" is attached.

When I resize a jpg, I see what you have as a window for "resize".

FWIW, I get exactly the same as Joelle when I want to resize a PNG. And it is exactly the same whether I do so in the 64 bit or 32 bit versions of X9...

Have you tried to reset PSP using the Shift key?

Yes, yesterday, but it did not work for png files.

Question: Could my original down-load be the cause of this? an error of some type?

It can't harm to re-download the file and start again.

A very strange issue. Not that I know if this will help with troubleshooting but does this happen with all PNG images or just one particular image?

I can tell you that it was not just that set. Crash.

I did write the first 5 lines of the crash:

APPCRASH
Corel PaintShop Pro.exe
19.0.0.2
Fault Module Name: MSVCR110.dll
Fault Module Version: 11.0.51106.1

Is the 19.0.0.2 suppose to be with my up-to-date PSP X9 version of PSP Pro x9 19.1.0.29?

Latest X9 is release 19.1.0.29 after you install Update 3.

LarryBH, have you tried saving the PNG file first as PNG (or under a different name?) and then resizing that?

Just tested with Tif, gif, png and jpg and the resize box is identical for each.

When an image is loaded and displayed in PSP it is no longer a gif or tif or jpg etc . It is a bit mapped image and only becomes one of the others when it is saved. So when you resize any bit mapped image it should be treated the same as all other bit mapped images.

As Joe has mentioned it might be a problem with a particular type of png which is not properly loaded and converted to a bit mapped image or more likely some problem with your version of PSP.

Another test you might do is install your version of PSP X9 on a different computer and see if the same problems with png files occur on the other computer.

Larry, your version 19.0.0.2 seems to be odd. Did you get an ultra early version of PSP X9?

The first version of PSP X9 that came out in august 2016 produced version 19.0.0.96
Update 1 produced 19.0.1.8
Update 2 produced 19.0.2.4
Update 3 / SP1?? produced 19.1.0.29
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Are you saying you have exactly the same issue as Larry with the resize dialogue when opening PNG files only? Also, as @hartpaul pointed out, the version number of Larry's PSP is odd. What is the version number of your installed PSP?
