Hi,
Thanks for looking, what is the best tutorial dealing with the selection tools and the best way to select an object. I keep searching and it seems like there are many ways to accomplish the same result. I tried following some and it really didn't work as described. Thanks in advance from someone kind of new to PaintShop Pro.

Re: PaintShop Pro X9 Best tutorial selections
I believe there is no best way to select an object. If one was the best than there would be no need for any other types of selection tools.
Each type of image will have different ways of doing a slection some of which are better than others for that image
eg if the part you want to select is a pure color then magic wand and RGB mode may give you the quickest and best.
if the part to be selected was a regular shape or had sharp lines then a Freehand point to point or Edge Seeker may be better.
Smart Selection brush may be more useful for other image objects.
Experiment and find out and learn - that part is free and only takes time.

I've been a user of PSP since v5.01. Never used Masks!!!! My point being that there is no 'best' way to achieve many end results. My suggestion is to try various ways and stick with what you are comfortable with. It may take some experimenting and lots of spare time. But along the way you be amazed at what you also discover.

There was a story that if you give 10 economists the same problem you will get 10 different answers.
Likewise if you were to provide a sample of an image and explain what selection you require, you would get almost as many different solutions to your problem.
