Re: PSP X9 locks up
Corel support has finally responded to my ticket. Since getting help from Corel, I now have a second problem. Error 1722 prevents the program from installing correctly. Corel says that they are aware of this problem and there currently is no fix. They have officially given up on me.

Re: PSP X9 locks up
Just for info, I don't need to log a report, but have a similar problem when sliding the dot on the bar of the function High Pass Sharpen/Strength. If I move it by the up and down arrows it's fine. If sliding the dot on the bar I get the pop up with 'Program has stopped working' Close. The program closes but won't reopen unless I reboot the machine. Latest download from about 10 days ago. Not a problem really as I know the workaround by using the arrows. All other sliders work with the other sections. On Windows 10 Anniversary.

Re: PSP X9 locks up
If you have problem starting PSP after it has stopped working, rather than reboot try checking in Task Master - you may find that there is a portion of PSP still active and ending that may allow restarting. Sometimes waiting for a while allows the application to end.MikeG 19442 wrote:If sliding the dot on the bar I get the pop up with 'Program has stopped working' Close. Thanks Mark, I did try leaving it but that didn't let it restart; certainly try task manager next time.

Re: PSP X9 locks up
In Task Manager you need to look in the Background Processes part, not the main Apps part as PSP would be closed in the latter but still running in the background.

Re: PSP X9 locks up
I have been a user of PSP for many years and now have the latest versions of PSP 32 and 64bit. The 32-bit program works faultlessly but, as other contributors experience, my 64-bit version repeatedly freezes whenever I choose PRINT.
My computer has adequate resources and I have tried all dodges advised so far. I therefore have to keep on using the 32-bit version in order to get on with my work. There is surely an answer?

Yes Ken, it did it again and can confirm via Task Manager that the main program was running in there, ended process and it reloaded OK.MikeG 19442 wrote:Thanks Ken, I'll check that next time.

Re: PSP X9 locks up
Since I can get neither X9 nor X2 to work in Windows 10, I decided to give version 7 a try. Not X7, just 7. So far, it's working okay. At least I'm up and running now with something. Can't open my pspimage files, but that's understandable.
So, I guess I'll have to wait for version X10 and give that a try. Hopefully Corel will have this Windows 10 crash bug fixed by then.

Re: PSP X9 locks up
Contact them via live chat.
I only did it once for a different issue nothing to do with PSP, but they were helpful up to a point (though I immediately terminated the chat when it began to go down the "defrag your machine" kind of route).
The main thing is you're talking to someone and you can push for immediate closure (i.e. refund).

Re: PSP X9 locks up
I did contact them, I submitted a support ticket. They weren't able to help though. It's a bug in the software and they said there wouldn't be a fix before the next major release.
Re: PSP X9 locks up
I'm sorry, I thought you said you wanted a refund. I suggested live chat - not the ticketing system - because you get a live, real time person on the line right there and then.
If there's a bug then you have a valid reason for a refund.

Re: PSP X9 locks up
Corel support is generally thought to be an oxymoron. It's notoriously poor when it works at all. There seem to be a couple of Corel people who try to take the job title seriously and sometimes post in the forum in an attempt to help, but for the most part Corel support is intermittent at best and often ineffective at worst.tlveik wrote:Corel support has gone silent. I though about just keeping it and waiting for an update, but the program doesn't even run at all anymore so there is no way to get an update. I'll just wait for X10 and try again.
I've been using PSP for so many years I don't want to switch to something else.
