Blending Layers in ASP 3
Blending Layers in ASP 3
I just downloaded version 3 and playing around with layers I don't see the blending layers available when selecting the polygon tool. It is available in version 2. I contacted pre sales and tech support, but so far they can't answer the question. Anyone have any experience with version 3 and has noticed the removal of blending modes? I am currently using version 3 trial version. Perhaps this is a limit in the trial version. Pre sales could not answer that question either. Doesn't cause me to have a lot of confidence in Core's tech support.

Re: Blending Layers in ASP 3
This is a bad bug - and was already mentioned here when ASP 3 was released.
In ASP 3 it is only available with the circle region.
I need this feature too!

Re: Blending Layers in ASP 3
Thank You. I can't believe the pre sales or tech. support couldn't answer that simple question. I guess I won't be upgrading until they fix it.
Re: Blending Layers in ASP 3
Here is a segment of the email from tech support regarding the removal of blending while using layers with the curve tool and the polygon tool.
"Thank you for contacting Corel Technical Support.
We appreciate your time in letting us know the status of this case
With regard to your ticket, As far as a technical issue is a concern, the developer stripped down the feature to avoid necessary bug to the version as there are some reports that these feature are causing performance issue.
Hope this helps"
Yep, this helps. Even though version 3 describes how to use this feature, the feature is not available. Doesn't make me feel good about Corel's commitment providing to fix there programming issues and to clean up the bugs in version 3. Tech support was not upfront nor was pre sales up front about the removal of this feature. It took a couple of days to get a simple answer.

Re: Blending Layers in ASP 3
No it surly does not help to remove important features!
And by the way - every new version - and yes there is (very little ... very slow ...) improvement - introduces new bugs and lack of stability.
And no - I do not want to switch off all plugins just because they can cause problems in the interaction - I think it should be the work of corel to avoid features causing performance issue ...
I never heard of this - the better way would be - announce that a feature can cause performance issues (as it is done in the online description of some plugins) - but leave the choice to use it at the costumer
