I'm currently using VideoStudio x9.5 ultimate,
I'm editing a video with MP4 and MTS files approx. 24 mins in total
When the program is rendering the video in mpeg4 or wmv (haven't tried avi and mpeg2)
VideoStudio crashes.
I have already changed the files to m2ts but it doesn't work
MPEG optimizer/ avc / h264 does the job but only renders half the video
My system is windows 10 64bit
VideoStudio crashes while rendering in mpeg4 and wmv

Re: VideoStudio crashes while rendering in mpeg4 and wmv
The program should not crash for sure. However, in order to fix whatever is causing you this problem, more information is going to be needed. We also should try to see if there is a workaround to get you going.
Please give more information about the properties of the video clips as I suspect the mixing of mp4 and mts files with different properties is causing this problem. In addition give the properties of the project and the properties of what you are rendering. By properties I mean at least, resolution, fps, bitrate. In addition, give details of what editing you are doing to the project: what transitions, what filters, any cuts of the clips, etc.
Eventually, it would help if some small version of your project that fails would help in getting to the bottom of the crash.

Hi
Just to add to al’s reply….
What do you mean it only renders half the video?
Where are you saving the rendered files to? Are you using your pc hard drive or a USB
How long is the actual project?

Re: VideoStudio crashes while rendering in mpeg4 and wmv
thanks for the reply
below are the properties of some of the video clips
and vs seems to crash upon rendering the 2gig vid
by rendering half the video i mean vs only renders 10 minutes of video while the project is 24 minutes long
and it cuts right in the middle
but vs considers it rendered completely
i used not many effects in the projects
mercalli v2 for stabilization
for transitions i used only crossfade
btw the video is saved to C:/

Re: VideoStudio crashes while rendering in mpeg4 and wmv
When you say you already changed the files to .m2ts, what were they originally?
And I notice that the mpeg-4 properties in the second sample above show a variable frame rate. Were the clips with those properties taken by a smartphone, by any chance? At any rate, video studio has trouble dealing with that, and you would need to convert those clips to mpeg-4 with a constant NTSC frame rate of 29.97 fps before inserting them into VS. Some of us here use a conversion program called Format Factory. Just be careful to read each dialogue box of the installation process for that as it offers to install bloatware which you would not want.

Yeah the MP4 files were shot with a smartphone
The original files were .mts
Thanks, I will try out your solution

Re: VideoStudio crashes while rendering in mpeg4 and wmv
Sorry -- the name of the program is Format Factory -- now corrected above. When you do the conversion, "convert" it to mpeg-4 with near or identical properties, apart from the frame rate which, as I have already set, should be a constant 29.97 fps.
