PSP X9 toolbars & palette problems

Post by walbert »

PSP X9 suddenly lost the standard toolbar. Eventually had to uninstall & reinstall. Now images in the EDIT workspace open behind the standard toolbar & can not be accessed. I also usually put the navigation palette in the edit workspace and that is not possible either. Moreover, even though the materials and layer palette are checked, they do not appear (not hidden, but nowhere on the workspace). I have done the desired setup many times in the past, but the usual moves do not work. Any ideas what is going on?

Have you tried resetting PSP to its default state? Press and hold the Shift key when you click on the desktop icon to open PSP. You will be asked if you want to reset it.

Make sure you save your workspace first if you have customized that.

I have not reset yet because I did not want to have to redo all my preferences. But, my current strangely altered workspace is not usable; so I will give it a try.

I did reset PSP X9 and everything is back to normal. It takes quite a while to redo all of the individual preferences and customizations. I am more concerned as to why all of the changes happened entirely unexpectedly. The program worked fine and when loaded again a few hours later, it was virtually unusable.

Now that everything is working, it would be a good idea to take Ken's advice and save your workspace if you haven't done so already.

File -> Workspace -> Save

This will come in handy if you need to reset your workspace in the future.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed
