Choppy rendered video

Post by bane70 »

Hello,
I have problem with rendered video. Every settings I tried in Corel VideoStudio x9 resulting the same - choppy rendered video. No matter which kind of codec I tried and what format of rendered video, result is the same. I even tried uncompressed AVI, which results with file bigger than 500 GB, but results is the same :(
Here you can see the rendered video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foYqDZ338Q4. I tried everything and rendered this video at least 30 times with different settings, but every time finalized video is chopped. Can somebody help me to resolve this issue?

Source files are in 1920x1080 resolution, and their reproduction is normal.

I am not at all sure what your definition of "choppy" is - having watched it all the way though all I see is a lot of unstable camera work - in fact the reason I watched all of it was to look for somewhere where you put the camera on a tripod or solid base - hand holding a small camera is very difficult - even minor wobbles look like an earthquake

Have you watched the video direct from your camera to your TV - "RAW" as it were - is it different

perhaps you could put a small clip - not rendered or edited in any way on to Youtube so that others can see it and give you their opinions

I believe that all you need to do is apply one of the stabilising filters to your footage - "Rock steady Camera" for instance

but I'm sure others have an opinion

I agree with Brian, you're lacking in technique. You're not going to get anywhere close to smooth video by hand-holding while shooting in a moving car. Breathing can make HD video seem jittery and choppy if you're not holding the camera solidly, and are very slow and fluid with panning.

Also it helps members provide more meaningful help when you provide some information needed for that. What information is that? It's found in the section above this forum called Please Read This First Before Posting

For "Choppy" I mean that in rendered video it looks like some frames missing.

Here is rendered video: https://youtu.be/foYqDZ338Q4?t=54m59s
And here is original file directlz from camera for the same section: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFwPkyZ26f8

You will see that original file is more smoother than rendered. You are right, the camera shakes in both videos, but in rendered video exists some extra twitches in every second. And both video supposed to have 25 fps.

BTW, I also realized that camera is too shaky, and just bought steady cam, so future videos will be more stabilized :)

Why do you have the Project Properties set like this?
Project properties:
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 854 x 480, 25 fps
Frame-based
Uncompressed
PCM, 44,100 kHz; 16 Bit; Stereo
If you haven't already, in the Preferences on the General tab, check the box beside "Show message when inserting first video clip to timeline". First is important, because the dialog that pops up will only do it when inserting the first clip. This allows you to accept that your project properties do not match that of your video clip, or change them to match. It's not always required they do, but if you happen to choose Same as Project Properties when you render, it will cause problems, or at the very least, it will not use Smart Render.

That option is checked, but program never pops up dialog box. But to be honest, I think that I never tried "Smart Render" option during rendering process.

To bring Ron up to date a little (with respect), in fact .mov files do NOT activate that message when first inserted into a new project. I don't know why, but they don't.

And band70, just be aware that SmartRender only works on video in the project which is the same format as the format you are rendering to.
