Power calibration failure

Post by philcox »

- Ulead 2.12
- Pioneer DVR 104 (Ulead 1.41 drive)
- Windows XP Pro SP 2

I am getting DVDR-DAO-SPTI-2A-02-03-73-03 "Failed in performing power calibration" when trying to wrtie to a DVD. I have installed the latest burning patch. i am hesitant to upgrade, as I don;t know if it will fix the problem, and I do NOT want to thor $$ out the window.

Any pointers are appreciated.

Looks like when I put in DVD-RW media, then the writing worked fine. I have used the DVD-R media many times beofre (it is a stack of 100 disc's), but it has been a while since I have written one. Could it be just bad media?

Make sure your running the latest "Firmware" on the burner.
Check the Pioneer website. The Firmware updates fixes bugs and for more
new media compatibility.

That error is the laser/burner cannot adjust to the disks settings.
Could just be a bad dvd. Look for defects on the inner/outer edges of the dvd.

DMF 2.12?

there are two things you need to do.

1. Install the CD/DVD burning pack
http://www.ulead.com/tech/general/burning_patch.htm

2. Update the burning engine

hope this helps :)
