Creating titles at an angle

Post by scottphillipsusa »

I can create titles horizontally or vertically. Although vertically seems backwards to me and I haven't figured out how to flip the letters.

Is there anyway in Video Studio to create text at different angles instead of vertically and horizontally? Mainly looking for diagonal text.

Thanks.

diagonal text

Why don't you try browsing the "moving-path" and "swing" animations in its animation tab. ^_^ VS9

I can do that and it looks ok. I was looking at "still" text. Like you might do for titles of a video. Horizontal and vertical text can get boring and diagonal would be good once in awhile.

Thanks for the suggestion.

AFAIK that's not possible with VS9. I thought maybe this could be faked using a graphics program, but nope it's not. I played with it and only 90 degree rotation. What a bummer...

Hi
You could make a horizontal text.
Create video file of the text.
Use the video file in the overlay track.
Apply chrome key to remove background.
Drag the corners of the frame to any shape you like.

Just an idea

I also just done an experiment using Paintsho Pro 9.

1). Created text
2). Rotated the text so that it was diagnal
3). Exported it to png format, using alpha channel transparency.
4). Opened VS9.
5). Place image/color or video on main track.
6). Imported my text png file onto overlay track.

Now the text is diagnal across the screen. Just one way to fake or workaround this limitation.

Regards :)
