2017 is upon us, and VideoStudio having such limited support for Matroska is awfully archaic, since MKV has been around for a decade at least. Sure, now it allows us to import MKV but it can't process them properly, with timeline clip frame-navigation being choppy at best, to the point where I have to convert the clip to HQ AVI to be able to trim it exactly the way I want it - otherwise with mkv trimming the frames overlap and you're not sure if you got all of the clip's part you wanted.
Furthermore, we can't EXPORT to mkv. Why not? It's far superior to mp4 and avi in terms of quality. Don't want Videostudio to be trampled up and left for dead by other better software. It's time for a serious technological upgrade; in fact, it's overdue.

Re: Exporting to MKV
Other than CyberLink PowerDirector 15, what other comparable editing programs can export as MKV, Premiere Elements 15, Sony Movie Studio 13, Pinnacle Studio 20, Edius Pro and Sony Vegas Pro do not have that capabilityAttilaTheHun wrote:
