Thank you gewb. But there is a little problem (for me) with your file. Because I don't have your pictures, it's hard to really see the same thing as what we see in the mp4 video. One way to really see everything would be that you export your project as a model (Template) and then upload that template. Normally, the pictures / music should upload with your project same as the ones I uploaded and that you can see from the link in my signature below. Good example : Under Files for all / Personal Templates 1/ Ma_realisation 10. Seven personal pictures included with the project.gewb wrote:Hello JaRo -JaRo wrote:Good morning gewb,
Was your video made with VideoStudio ?
Here is the link to my source video on Vimeo (made in VS X8.5):

Umm, actually the VSP is all you need to play with the settings I used. (Also assumes default VS installation directories.)
1) Locate an MP4 video file of yours and one or more JPG files of yours.
2) Launch my VSP project file in VS.
3) When VS asks to locate the files, UNCHECK the options and cancel - the project opens with an empty Vid1 line and three empty Vid2 overlay entries.
4) Click on the Vid1 empty entry the right-click and select Replace Clip... then Video... Navigate to your clip and select it - it will populate the entry for my missing video clip.
5) Do the same for each of the three JPG entries in the Vid2 overlay track.
You now have my project with attributes but your media files to play around.

Hi delaluz, delaluz wrote:I will try to put a video on youtube which depicts what I did.
I spent time trying different approaches but I think yours works well. I hit a wall with the way VS executes stacked effects - some types must come before others which is the reverse of what I wanted.delaluz wrote: Please note that the video is only an example of the type of compositing that I wanted to do. It was the quickest thing I could throw together. I described how I did it in previews posts in this thread.
If there is an easier way to do this without the compositing effect please let me know how I can crop only a small portion of an overly video & position it (and scale it) anywhere on the screen.
Again, thanks for all the input on this.
My "definition" of compositing is combining multiple video images into one output image. In my example I used the same source video twice, once as the background and once as the overlay. However, the same approach would work with two (or more) source videos.gewb wrote:I spent time trying different approaches but I think yours works well. What is your definition of "compositing effect"?
