Unable to start aftershot 3 Program.
A few days ago I updated from Paint shop Pro X7 Ultimate as a result of a very good offer from Corel. However whist I have been able to download and install X9 and have it running I am totally unable to get Aftershot 3 which comes with the package, to run. When I try to open it I get the choose folder box in the centre of the screen. As soon as I click O.K. the screen clears and nothing else happens. Is this a fault in the download (i have tried several times now) or a problem with my activation number . I am just at a loss and feel that I have overlooked something but I just can't think.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Re: Unable to start aftershot 3 Program.
Hi Have you just recently downloaded and installed the program. I upgraded to PSP X9 on 8th December but so far no matter what I have tried, I have been unable to get the program to start other than the Choose Folders box in the middle of the screen. It then just stops. Paint shop pro seems to work fine but not this AfterShot 3. I have also sent an email to Support.

I am angry,
No response from corel support.
Nothing, nichts, nada !
I will refund my money.
The Problems:
Aftershot unabler to start !
After closing PSPX9, a message is displayed that an update is available.
But, he update is already installed.
PSPX8 worked fine, a good program!
Aftershot2 worked fine, a good program!

Re: Unable to start aftershot 3 Program.
I have exactly the same problem. When PSP X9 closes it advises to install update but when I try to do this It points out that the program needs to close before update. When I close the program I am informed No update. Still no success with AfterShot 3 and also no response from Corel support.

Re: Unable to start aftershot 3 Program.
Hi Users,
It's pity to see this issue happen in past days. Now I'm trying to collect more and more information and pass to our Dev team to investigate the issue ASAP. Here I would like to have your great help to share your experience with me. More detail information can help us to find the root cause quickly.
1. PSPX9 "Update3" notification repeatedly issue -
We can duplicate the issue here. Can you share what Windows version you are working?
2. Cannot launch ASP3 -
Do you consider the issue happen after you "re-install" the PSPX9 Update3? We cannot duplicate the issue from our end by far even if we did the same step. Can you share your system environment for reference?
- Your operation system:
- Your ASP3 version:
- If you reinstall the ASP3 again, can the issue be resolved?
- Any other strange situation you met.
Sorry for asking you to share this information. We gonna investigate both issues and expect to correct them ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Unable to start aftershot 3 Program.
Hi Joseph, Thank you for your response. Lets see if I can give you any information that may help.
PSPX9 Update3 notification is still coming up even after totally removing PSPX9 with an uninstaller program and re-downloading it again. The program shows the version is 19.1.0.29 x64 which is what it says it will update to. The program runs fine but the notification comes up every time it is closed. This happens on two computers both running windows 10. The notification for update 3 will not allow anything to be done. It points out that PSP is running and needs to be closed. When you close the program, a notification says there is no update available.
AfterShot 3 I have tried downloading with and without firewall active without any difference. I have uninstalled with an uninstaller program and started again but still it would not start. I think I have removed and installed about 5 or 6 times. However late last night I downloaded yet another "fresh copy" and it installed and opened for the first time. It comes up as version 3.2.0.205 x64. It actually let me register it. I do not know what was different. It was almost as if this was a slightly different download. I have not had time to try it properly but it appears to be working.
Operating system is Windows 10
AfterShot 3 version 3.2.0.205 x64
The last time I downloaded and installed on both desktop PC's it appeared to work. (5 or 6 other times nothing)
Can't think of any other strange situations during the process. (the only thing I have not done is install the Creative collection on PSPX9 on one machine, the other has it install and both appear to work.)
The only thing I am concerned about is if there is some problem and I need to download again, my download link is only valid until 22/12/2016.
Hope this helps. If you require any more I will be more than happy to oblige.
Neil Preshous.

Re: Unable to start aftershot 3 Program.
Hi Guys
I received this info from Steven Steeves Corel Support, Thanks for the quick reply regarding this issue.
It appears that there may be a problem with the update 2 for AfterShot 3, which is impacting some customer's. For the time being, I would suggest uninstalling the software through the control panel under programs and features and then re-downloading the update 1 build at:
Please read reply from Alex Brazeau here.............http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 47#p337047
Click on the download arrow to download the zip file and then extract the zip file to run the setup application to start the installation.
Thank you.
I have not installed at the moment but will reply after downloading the file.
Hope this helps
Regards

Re: Unable to start aftershot 3 Program.
Did as suggested above and the software ran, (version 3.1.0.181 x64) however it then started updating to update 2 and would appear to have removed version 1 and left nothing. Nothing worked. I went back and re downloaded a fresh copy using my link which appeared to install and run. Due to the busy time of year I have been unable to spend much more time on it to check out the features.
Thanks
Neil Preshous.
