I'm upgrading from VS Pro X7 to VS Pro X9...
How exactly does an Upgrade proceed, as opposed to a typical full-program install?

An upgrade is a full program install. No previous version needs to be installed.

No it will not. At one time a few years ago, I had VS versions 8,9,10, 11,12, X3,X4,X5 installed. If you uninstall the version you are upgrading from, VSX7 in your case, you may need to provide the serial number for X7 while installing X9.

Was finally able to install VS Pro X9 on my system--but encountered still more problems with setting it up.
