cant create 23.976p blu-ray discs
Is it possible to create 23.976 blu-ray discs using video studio x9. My only options seem to be 29.97i Upper field or lower field. Yesterday Ken ask me why I was trying to burn in 29.97i. Its bc thats the only option Im given. he also said 30P is a blu-ray standard however every Ive looked it says its not and Im not given that option either so Im settling for trying 23.976p but as you can see in the screenshots its not available.

Hi
Yes it is possible to burn a 23.97fps Bluray disc.
You have first to render / convert your video/project to a compliant video file.
Typical settings:-
NTSC non-drop frame (30 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 23.976 fps
Frame-based
(MPEG-2) (Transport stream), 16:9
H.264 Video
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 23999 kbps)
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
Then start a new project
Share Create Disc Bluray
Add your video file.
Do not go to Cogwheel settings, I assume Do Not Convert Compliant video is selected.
If you do look ignore the properties window.
The wording Do Not Convert Compliant… does just that, so the cogwheel settings are not required, ignore them……
After pressing burn the process will start with convert Menu, assuming you are creating a menu
Choose to create a folder, view the Stream folder to check the video properties as 23.97 fps
Having said all that, converting your 30 / 29.97 video to 24 fps is gonna impact on quality as each second will lose 6 frames, reducing the 29.97 to 24
You are best in using 29.97.

Re: cant create 23.976p blu-ray discs
I am still dealing with the same issue using X8.5 Ultimate version. I have 24.000 fps NTSC of original footage and I have tried everything, including the above steps, nothing seems to work. I start my project and render to the 1st text below. I then start a new project and even if I disregard the cog wheel options, it produces 25p to blu-ray folder. I check the video details and both windows and MediaInfo show the blu rau disc created 25.000 fps/pal. Im at a lose and need to get this video project moving. VS doesnt even give me an option to change to any other fps when trying to put it on blu ray. I also started a post just like this a few days back.

24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 25 fps
