Hi all. I'm having some problems with my video files that I haven't had before. I've been using the same camera and I can't figure out how to fix them.
My video files are imported as .MOV from my video card, so I'm converting them to .mp4 with Handbrake.
I have one video file (.mp4), that wont play at all in video studio. The clip appears as if it's 1 second long when I try to play it.
And I have one video file (.m4v) that is playing with no audio. They both work fine when I play them in VLC.
The m4v properties from video studio:
For the mp4 file:
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

That is a very strange, non-standard frame size (720 x 406). It could be that which is causing VS to reject it -- though this might not be the cause if all your other video also has the same frame size. But where did it come from? I can't believe a video camera would be using such a size -- standard NTSC is 720 x 480. Or is that what Handbrake gave you?
Why didn't you try to use the .mov footage directly in Video Studio? If you can open a .mov file in VS, right click it in the timeline and see what its frame size is.

Oh dear I didn't notice that. Thank you. I think that's from handbrake because the original files were recorded in 1920x1080p.Ken Berry wrote:That is a very strange, non-standard frame size (720 x 406). VS wasn't letting me import the .MOV files before. (Program slowed down massively, and blue wheel.) I just tried importing them again and now it's working. I think I've installed an update since then because I've been having a few problems with VS, or maybe my computer was running really slowly.
Thanks for your help!

Glad it eventually worked. To play .mov files in VS you must have the Quicktime codec installed. There's been a lot of adverse publicity in recent months about Quicktime generally, but having just the codec should cause no problems.
