Shadow Question

Post by Guru Larry »

Hi there, Odd question, whenever I use shadows in overlays in Videostudio, around the black shadow, there's a milky/grey halo around it.

I've tried changing the settings, but no matter what I do the shadow is always there, even stranger it's not there in the video preview :S

I'm currently on the X9 Ultimate edition ATM, but I've literally had this issue for years in previous editions, thought it was my PC originally, but I've switched to a much more powerful machine recently and it's still there.

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?

Thanks!

Hi, it's a known bug in the custom motion.
you can decrease it to minimum by setting the border opacity to 0 on all keyframes.
* No... it wont help either.
**the only solution is to apply a mask and use the drop-shadow NB FX

Ah, excellent. Thank you!
Wow, it's a known bug? how on earth was it not rectified after so many iterations of VideoStudio? I've had it since since at least X5 :S

But thanks for the tip, I've used the drop shadow briefly in the past on images, but I've had to go into photoshop and give the image a large border otherwise the shadow cuts off. But how would I go about applying a mask?
