3D film editing from two separate video files.

Post by joshpit2003 »

I filmed with two separate cameras (spaced an eye-distance apart) for creating a 3D film. (the heart of stereoscopic 3D)

Some background information:

Lets say you normally upload 1920x1080 resolution content to YouTube for 2D viewing.
If you wanted to upload to YouTube with the intent of viewing in stereoscopic 3D, you would need to upload a video file that had your left-eye footage side-by-side with your right-eye footage, thus the video file to upload would need to be: 3840x1080 resolution.

So My questions:
1) How do I create a 3840x1080 frame size video in VideoStudio x9? (When I go into Profile Options, I am not able to input a user-defined frame size, and am only allowed to choose from a drop-down of standard sizes)
2) Is there any better way to edit a 3D film in VideoStudio x9 given that I am starting with separate (left and right) video files?

Thanks.

Hi, you can create and render that size by selecting the AVI with xvid/dvix codec.
