I have video and images of our vacation. I know how to add images and mix and match video.
BUT, in VS9 (as in previous version) it is painfully slow to add images to VS so you can drag and drop into the timeline. Seems like there should be an easier way to add images. If you need one or two it is not a big problem. But when you want to add 100 pictures from your vacation directory I'm still waiting as I write this post.
A lot of times I simply don't understand a feature of the software so I'm hoping that I've overlooked something simple.
Thanks.

At the very bottom-left of the window, there's a button with an icon of an open folder. Click it and then choose "insert image". This will open up windows explorer. Navigate to the folder where your pictures are select all the ones you want on the timeline then click open. They will all be added at once.
Make sure to go into preferences and set the duration for images to what you prefer, first. That way you don't have to go back and change the durations afterwards. Also, if there is a transition you will be using most of the time for your production, make sure to select it as the default transition. When you add your images, you'll have the default transition between the images added automatically as well.
Hope it helped!
