In all other versions, up until X8, a video clip in the timeline shows the file name. Both X8 and now X9 show the file path. This has been annoying me since version 8. Does anybody know if there is a setting somewhere that I can have it show just the file name? I don't have to do it often, but sometimes when I want to see the file name, I have to expand the clip to the entire timeline to read the end of the file path!
Another puzzling thing is that under "File", when you want to select a project, sometimes it will show just the project name, and other times the file path again. As of this writing, it shows all my recent projects by name, except the one I just saved. Example being, I just finished "Cab Lift Apparatus", and that's what is displayed. However, I just saved my start of "Lift 2", and the dropdown under "file" shows "C:\Users\...\Lift 2" rather than just "Lift 2". Just a curiosity for this part. really, but the other thing about the file path in the timeline clip is REALLY bugging me!

Re: File path vs file name in VS 9
Hi Jeff, very interesting.
I can't recall ever on my X9 or other VS's that on timeline clips the path was shown.
regarding Open Projects well...
while I can't see path right now, even as my projects list is from 3 different paths,,
I do have vague memory of maybe seeing that in the past.

Re: File path vs file name in VS X9
Hi
Not noticed that with any version of Video Studio.
I have just checked X9 and my projects show as the name only not the files location.
At the bottom of the File menu are 4 latest used projects, how do they display?
Are you able to provide a screen shot the details you are seeing?
I would suspect a setting in Windows Explorer as that’s where VS will retrieve its file info?

Re: File path vs file name in VS X9
like the others I have only ever seen the file name on display in all versions of Videostudio - never ever seen the path displayed - is there room for the full path under 'File'
this is what I see - can you show us what you see ?
