cnews.corel.com

Post by arturox »

Anyone got any idea what's happened to cnews.corel.com?

I've not been able to login to it with my News client apps for a number of days and am beginning to wonder if they've finally given everything over to Forums?

I've been trying to login for a couple of PSP version groups, but there's no connection to the corel server, I've tried with two different news client apps on two different Computer systems, but no go...

All other newsgroups configured in these News clients continue to work okay.

Thanks

Since Ken moved this over, I thought it worth a mention.

It's not just the PSP specific newsgroups that can't be read, it's the "cnews.corel.com" server(s) that are not connecting.

Again, this AM 6:30 ish Friday 2nd December "cnews.corel.com" is still not contactable.
While I can ping other news servers I use and get 100% returns, "cnews.corel.com" is not contactable giving no return at all. 100% loss.

cnews.corel.com has been down since the 27th November.

There was a power outage and Corel is working on fixing the servers.
I have no idea how long it takes to plug it all back in again..

As long as they fix things.

Maybe the power point has moved behind the sofa and they can't locate it. Or the fuse has popped, although North America doesn't do fuses I believe..

I like it...

Back in the days the apocryphal was...
The cleaner came in early couldn't find a free socket so just unplugged the nearest plug, got on with the cleaning while the company server died.

As for the fuses, I don't believe they have in-plug fuses as we do here in the UK, but of course they do have consumer unit circuit breakers. (Like the ones here in the UK next to the meter).

Hopefully the Ngs will be back online soon.

He he, good timing..

Circuit breakers are excellent.
The times I have managed to cut through the cable of the hedge trimmer, looking at the tiny cable left attached to the unit and surprised that my hair isn''t standing on end..

I have just received notification that the newsgroups should be back on Monday, mid day, but that might be in Canada, in case we have to wait a little longer ;-)

Good fun :-)

Oh yea, I'd forgotten about that, I'll have a looksee at the site for it. I already have the URL.

As PSP (Jasc 9 or Corel X8) are the only thing I use for my pictures, I'll see if the subject appeals. Urban.

Oh yes! I was working on something this past weekend that'll fit in that category, I'll post it to the NG asap.

Ax

Thanks for the remind J...
