How to Purchase Blu-Ray Plugin for VS X9

Post by packrat79 »

I wanted to create some Blu-Ray discs with VS Pro x9, I knew this required a separate plugin so I attempted to buy it. On the Help menu there is an option to "Purchase Blu-Ray Authoring", which I clicked but nothing happens. I can't seem to find the plugin available for purchase online either. Did Corel discontinue the plugin or am I missing something? One reason I bought VSx9 was to have integrated Blu-Ray authoring, so I won't be happy if this feature has been pulled since I bought the program.

As far as I am aware the plugin is still available, you should see the following screen when you click on the purchase option, You would appear to be correct about online purchase, it does seem to be missing from the Corel addons list

I keep trying but absolutely nothing happens when I click that option. Same goes for the "restore purchase" option. Everything else on the Help menu (Messages, About, Corel Support, etc.) seems to work though. Maybe my installation got corrupted?

.
see if this link works for you packrat79

http://www.videostudiopro.com/en/produc ... s/blu-ray/

it says it is for X8 so might not work in X9 - but there is a phone number and a "chat" button there that should get you in contact with Corel sales

You might also try opening Internet Explorer. Corel seems to use IE as the default browser, despite numerous complaints. And although that purchase might not be browser related, having IE open in the background might just help.

IE wasn't installed for some reason, so I downloaded and installed the latest version for Win7. Still nothing. Do you think my VSx9 installation is corrupt?

Hi

Your CVSX9 should be fully patched having the version as 19.5.0.35

Do a Check for Updates from Help menu, but will return “ no updates Available”

Default Web Browser, we cannot remove Internet Explorer from our computers as its part of the operating system.
We can however change the default browser.

You should ensure IE is your default browser

However if Check for Updates works ok then I would assume your internet used by the program is ok. Even so make sure IE is the default browser.

And if you wish try re-installing CVSX9

Otherwise you should contact Corel support and explain your problem, certainly the Add-on was available via their web site at one time.

Tried setting IE11 as my default browser, still nothing. Going to try reinstalling VS and then contact Corel if that doesn't work.

This just gets better and better. Uninstalled VSx9, then downloaded the installer from Corel. When I run the installer, it says "0.00B out of 1.00B @ 0.00B/s", then gives me an error "We encountered a problem while installing", then quits. Now what am I supposed to do?

Finally got everything straightened out, I think. I found the original installation files I had downloaded when I first bought the program, and installed it from those. It automatically updated the program files to the latest version. The Purchase Blu-ray Authoring option now works as it should.... finally. Hard to say how my original installation got corrupted.
Thanks anyway for the suggestions.
