PSP X9 Script error issues.
Hi Guys
This post refers
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=60715
A problem running scripts using PSP X9 appears to be associated with the update patches.
There are 3 updates usually installed in sequence as they are released.
However for new installations only Update 3 is required and indeed offered via the programs auto updates, Update 3 should include 1 and 2.
Not installing Updates 1 and 2 seems to be causing this problem.
Users are advised to download updates 1 , 2 , 3 in sequence.
Updates can be downloaded from
http://www.paintshoppro.com/en/support/updates/
then install the program followed by all patches.
Cancel any auto updates that the program throws at you as that will install 3, install updates manually.
PSP X9 install 19.0.0.96
Update 1 version 19.0.1.8 (installing this cured the errors)
Update 2 version 19.0.2.4
Update 3 version 19.1.0.29
Corel are aware of this problem and hopefully will release a fix shortly

Dear PSP Folks,
Great thank you for taking your time to contribute your observation about this issue here. Very appreciated!! First of all, please accept my sincere apology if there is any inconvenience caused. Fortunately, we have found the key point to reproduce this issue, although the root cause is still under investigating. But we assume it should relate with some of Python modules are lost to install into Update3 version. Here is a quick summary:
1. The issue just occurs when your PSPX9 version is
- Install PSPX9 GM version (19.0.0.96) full build
- Install PSPX9 Update3 version (19.1.0.29) full build
or
- Install PSPX9 GM version (19.0.0.96) full build and then get "Update3" patch update and install it. (19.1.0.29)
2. (updated) The issue just occurs when you runs the script that uses the Random module, like the one shared (created) by Carole.
Because all default installed "script" is working well hence we do not have chances to get the error even fixing it before Update3 released.
Moreover, thanks Carole's helping to follow up with this problem and found a temporary solution can resolve this issue now.
To the user who encounters with this script issue right now, please download the "PythonPackage"" from https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/546 ... ackage.exe and install it. In fact, the package has been added back to PSP since Update1 so it should be existed in Update3 theoretically. But the script issue just tells us something is wrong. Before we figure the root cause out and fix the issue into next patch (Update4), please download and install the "PythonPackage" as a temporary solution. We have confirmed the issue was gone after install it.
At last, I would like to say sorry again to those users who met this issue after Update3 installed. We knew the quality is very important for each update released and we should take all responsibility for the quality area. But please understood we do really spend much time in the testing process always. Going forward, we will try to cover more different testing case and content in order to avoid this kind of problem to happen again. Thank you for your understanding.

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
It's not just Carole's scripts. This happens on scripts that I've created for myself as well.2. The issue just occurs when you runs the script shared (created) by Carole.

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
It effects any script that calls a library that wasn't included in the updates after patch 1. It was just most noted with her scripts as she got the reports from users and she reported it to Corel.

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
While you're absolutely correct, would you mind an OT comment? It seems your posts have a lot of blank space at the bottom. Too many "Enter" type line breaks either in the posts or in an invisible sig? Just asking!LeviFiction wrote:It effects any script that calls a library that wasn't included in the updates after patch 1. I think it's because of the profile data to the side of each post.

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
Good point, and thanks for pointing it out. I've often wondered why sometimes there is so much blank space below a post. I guess I don't see it in my posts because I'm waaayy to wordy so my posts tend to end up longer than the profile info! I'll try to correct that tendency - or not....??LeviFiction wrote:I think it's because of the profile data to the side of each post.

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
Hi
Original comments by Joseph updated as..
2. (updated) The issue just occurs when you runs the script that uses the Random module, like the one shared (created) by Carole.
Because all default installed "script" is working well hence we do not have chances to get the error even fixing it before Update3 released.
Once a fix has been released by Corel I will remove the sticky post

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
after installing servicepack3 the template-scripts are running but the exe-Files of Paintshop x9 are still shown as Version 19.0.0.2.
so the program tries to run servicepack3 again and again and again ... always ending with "not nexessary".
and there's another problem within Scripting. just try the attached scripts - no matter if PsPx7, PsPx8 or PsPx9.
#Go_NO_Leinwand_custom.PspScript / doesn't work
#Go_YES_Leinwand_center.txt / works
but I don't find the reason for that. Do You?
Just rename the .txt to .PspScript

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
Hi
I have 19.1.0.29 which has been working fine for 2 years. Suddenly I get a script error message whenever I start PSPX9 and can't get out of it no matter how many times I press Yes or No or X in the message window. I have to shut it down using Task Manager. I've looked at the other posts on this which don't help. Looking at post 'Tue Nov 29 2016 3:04pm', the link to the Python package does not work, gives error message.
I don't know what to do as I can't use the program anymore.
I have attached error message.
Thanks
Nigel

Try the solution in the post linked below which provides a link to a patch to try to fix the error message:tree wrote:Hi

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
Hi everyone
I could do with some help with this problem, which I cannot seem to resolve.
I have the script error issue that keeps persisting on my Paintshop Pro X9.
I have installed all the updates twice, in order, 1 to 4 plus the help files.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Best regards

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
What error message are you specifically getting? And is it on every script you run or only some? if it is only on some, which are they?

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
PSP uses Python Scripting for automation (macros) and Javascript for the now-defunct geotagging of photos in the 'Manage' tab. The image just before the most recent posts is of a Javascript error.
Have you tried a PSP reset? To do that hold down the shift key whilst clicking on the PSP icon to start the program.

Re: PSP X9 Script error issues.
This is from Corel(https://www.paintshoppro.com/en/support/updates/#psp-X9): "Update 4 is now available for Corel PaintShop Pro X9. This update improves application stability and addresses a number of reported issues."
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.
