VideoStudio X9 No Audio with .MTS files

Post by EnzoFerro »

Hi Guys -

When I import any .MTS files I can't hear any audio. Audio works fine in Windows Media Player.

Hoping someone can help.

Thanks!

Hi Enzo

And welcome to the forums

I do not have any problems in using MTS video from my Panasonic camcorder.
But I am aware of others that have reported similar audio problems.

Using X9 should ensure the project properties match the video files being used, in particular Digital Dolby 5.1 or 2.0.

There were several suggestions as a workround but does not fix the issue, changing the 100% audio to 99% did appear to help for some video formats. We should not have to do that!

Are you able to upload a sample to a sharing site , Google Drive, DropBox or Microsoft One Drive are free to use, simply provide us with a link and we can try your video files.

Hi Trevor -

Thanks for the welcome and the quick response!

Here is a link to one of the clips in question. Plays fine via Windows media player. Once imported into VSX9, no audio.

It's my son in the process of recording some metal music, so apologies in advance to sensitive ears

Let me know if you need anything else.

Hi Guys -

Sorry, I didn't want to start another thread topic. If I am being "that guy" please let me know.

This is the same project, however I am importing video from a different source recording as .mp4.
I am getting some all together different happening. Now I am having video issues. Again the original file is fine and plays beautifully in
WMP, import and play/view in VSX9 and it starts to jitter and glitch out. See below. I rendered as an AVI so you can have a look.

Hi Enzo. I've downloaded 00012.mts and it plays fine in my X9, with -- as you warned -- a quite assertive guitar riff!! What version is your X9? In my case, the fully updated version is 19.5.0.35... If you don't have that, then maybe one of the updates is missing and is affecting the audio.

As to your second .avi sample, I haven't downloaded that as I am not sure it would serve any purpose apart from demonstrating the problem. It would be the original of the clip you converted to .avi which would be far more useful in finding a solution if it is not the guitar mts I already have. But again the video playback problem might flow from not having a fully up to date version of X9.

like Ken I have version 19.5.0.35 and like Ken your clip plays without problem in both 'clip' and 'project' mode - as do all my own MTS files

Call off the dogs.

Uninstall VSX9
Restart PC
Reinstall VSX9

All problems solved.

Thanks for your help and sorry for the multiple (and apparently unnecessary) posts. :D

Cheers!
