Resizing in X8
Could you tell me how to resize photos (batch process) to 1024 on the long side and 300dpi?

It's very easy. The resize dialog lets you set both print and pixel size at the same time. You simply have to set the print size first, then set the pixel size in another mode. It'll use both settings.
1) Open the batch Process (File -> Batch Process)
2) Add the images you want to batch - click next
3) Add resize to the list of commands to execute
4) Hover over the resize you just added to the list and select the edit button (pencil)
5) Inside the dialog select Print Size and change the DPI to 300
6) Now select by one side - long side - set it to 1024
7) accept these changes
setup your save settings (it's best to create copies as you don't want to lose the originals if something goes wrong)
9) Run the batch.
9) Run the batch.

Thank you for those step by step directions.
I did that and ended up with photos that were 3000x4500 and 300dpi.

Harumph!
Using the Batch process in these new versions of PSP is a nightmare when compared to the ease of use of say JASC PSP 9 (No X)
The whole process is so obfuscated, I've yet to actually get a batch processed as I want.

I do all my batch processing under Irfanview.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

That's unfortunate but I understand. I'd like to use PSP for it all!
I use FastStone Image Viewer for some of my batch processing like resizing since I can't get it to work for me in PSP.

Re: Resizing in X8
What size are your original images? Keep in mind you have to do the print size first, and the long side second. The reason for this is the print size will effect the pixel size, so if you change the print size last it'll override the 1024 long side option.
