PSP X9 ToolObject.dll crash

Post by Jan Shim »

The thing I like about X9 is that I no longer see CMDFILE.DLL crashes that was plaguing X8. That said, now I'm occasionally experiencing other sorts of error never seen before in earlier releases. Just this morning, my Tools Options palette vanished four active tabs opened. Didn't take long before "Input tracker, unhandled exception, need to reset target doc to NULL" appeared. Let's see how many times this error is going to appear.

I have exactly the same problem! What OS are you using? I'm on Win 10. A friend of mine suggested reinstalling the whole thing, but I'm gonna do that as the last resort only. I just hope there's a simple workaround.

Windows 7 64-bit.

I'm going to wait it out and see if it happens again.

Happened again for the second time in 24 hours!

I cannot recall the steps I took leading up to the crash yesterday but just now I clicked on Pen Tool and the tool options palette disappeared. Luckily for me, the image I was working on had been saved.

No good news I'm afraid.

As I rarely ever use the Pen Tool, I've removed it from the Tools palette to prevent from accidentally clicking on it.

Happy to report (after testing it over two days) that Update 4 has fixed ToolObject.dll crashes.
