PaintShop Pro x8 (Can't get it to install)

Post by CrimsonAdri »

So I just got Creator NXT Pro 5 which apparently comes with PaintShop Pro x8. I installed everything else from the CD(Creator NXT Pro 5 and AfterShot 3) just fine but for some reason it doesn't want me to install PaintShop Pro X8. :x
I have no idea what I'll need to tell anyone to help me so I'm just going to try and cover everything I’ve seen/read/done.

When I go to install it by clicking on the CD to run it, I hit "Creator NXT Pro Content" (The middle option of three folders. "Creator NXT 5 Content" is above and "Creator NXT Pro 5" is below.) Then there's three folders, the middle being "ROX_PAINTSHOP8" and then at the bottom of the list there's "setup.exe" which will take me to the same window that open if I were to open "ROX_PAINTSHOP8" then the "PaintShopProX8" folder then click on "Corel_PSPX8RF.exe"
That opens a little "InstallShield wizard" window which loads with no problem. I get a pop up from my computer asking me if I want to continue (like the window security thing) then after I hit yes the PaintShop window with the User License Agreement pops up, I hit the lil check and click next, enter the serial number from the case. It asks me 32bit & 62 or just one or the other and I hit both (I've also tried just 64) It then asks what features I want to install. Checked are "Corel PaintShop Pro X8 - Main Program" "Languages - English" and "Misc - Add shotcut".
It also asks where I want it to save and it automatically goes to "C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X8 (64-bit)\"
It then goes to the install screen and above the lil bar it says "Please wait while we configure Microsoft Visual C + _ 2012 Redistributable" and 2 seconds later a little window pops up "The system cannot find the file specified." then below that "c:\users\[my user]\appdata\local\temp\corel paintshop pro x8\18.0.0.1\setup\setup.msi" now when I go to that location with the window still open it's there but then once I click okay on the window and the install window goes away then the "18.0.0.1" folder goes away.
I tried copying the folder while it was there into a different location then closing the window and putting the folder back and it worked then but when I went to use the program it said the program was a damaged or illegal version and to install it from the original source.
When I hit "Creator NXT Pro Content" and just hit "setup.exe" when everything else is installed then a window will pop up asking if I want to repair, remove or modify. When I click modify "PhotoShop Pro X8" isn't checked off like “Corel WinDVD” is but when I click the check it says “This feature requires 0.00 MB on your hard drive”. Then once I click next from there it opens says “Status: Installing PaintShopProX8” but it doesn’t load at all it’s just the lil green bar going by on the lower of the two bars as “Windows configures PaintShopProX8”. It does that forever and the PaintShop window with the User License Agreement opens again while this is happening and does the same thing as before.
Am I just not waiting long enough, am I doing something wrong? I’ve tried uninstalling everything and installing it again but it just never works.

I let the "Roxio Creator NXT5 Pro Content Setup" window stay open for half an hour and it never started installing. "This may take several minutes" :!: :x
