To preface, I use Paintshop Pro to draw. Eventually, without fail, I reach a point where, as soon as I switch layers, tools, or even colors, something like 30%-100% of the work I -just- did is magically "erased", unrecoverable by any undo function, and I get stuck in this endless loop of drawing a line, switching to another tool or color, having the line disappear, switching back, drawing it again, trying to move on, having it disappear, etc.
This crap happened in X7 (64-bit) as well (right now I'm using X9 Ultimate, 64-bit)
Funny how it NEVER happened in X3.
I tried googling this way back the first few times I experienced it, and couldn't find anything. Now that it's happening again, I have no recourse except to ask here.
This only happens on large images, with a lot of layers, but right now, I NEED those layers, because things aren't ready to be merged yet. Seriously...if this is a memory leak or something, Corel has had 2 F***ING VERSIONS to fix it!
I literally can't continue with my work now. The only fix is to shut down the program, restart it, re-load my image, and I'll get maybe 5 minutes of usable work out of it before the crap starts happening again!
This is a fresh install (I just bought and downloaded it yesterday). My registry is clean, I don't have any addons or plugins installed to screw with things. No, this is just vanilla PSP X9 Ultimate on a rig with over 8 Gigs of RAM, and it's just deciding to bug the hell out and randomly delete a percentage of my work every time I click the mouse button.
Are there any fixes for this? Is this a known problem? Are there any workarounds?
(Randomly deleting work) This CAN'T just be me.

You said you use PSP to draw. Does that mean you're also using a tablet? If so, which one?
I don't use PSP for drawing so can't help with your specific question. But for the time being (while you wait for someone with an answer) you could always do the project you're working on with X3 where you didn't have that issue. As well, you can always get a refund for the version you just purchased within 30 days of purchase.
