Clone Brush woes

Post by Belle »

I've used the clone brush feature thousands of times, but this is a new one for me. I'm using Windows 10, and Paint Shop Pro 8x. I want to extend a line (2 pixel width and 20 pixels long - so far) to span the length of a page using the clone brush. I set the clone brush to 10 pixel width and expect it to copy the 2 pixel width line. However, I get a square of 10 pixels. Below is a screen shot. What makes the clone brush add the extra material? As always, thanks for the clue!

Just double checking, you made sure that the top layer was selected before setting the sample point correct? If you had one of the other two layers selected when you did the sample, it'll continue using the first layer. You have to make sure that you set the sample point on the same layer as the one you're working on.

Another option would be to try resetting your workspace. It's so weird the things a corrupted workspace will do to the program.

Hi! Yep. I double and triple checked my beginning point. I can use the clone brush just fine on any other image. Just not this one. Gaarrhhh!
