VS X9 corruption.

Post by Rollason »

I recently purchased VS X9 and in attempting to download and install it I found that it downloaded OK but then it wouldn't install. It gave me a dialogue box that stated that there was an internet problem. Having checked this, and had it checked, there was no internet problem. Has anybody else had this problem and were they able to resolve it? Corel have arranged a refund and I'm now wondering whether to attempt purchasing this programme again. Having spent about 12hours trying to sort this out I'm apprehensive about buying it again. Will somebody convince me that I should give it another go?

Hi Roy

It is true that the program will probably try to access the internet when installing or trying to run the program.
That may be a problem with your system or indeed Corels server fault.

You do not say which browser you are using.
I would suggest using Internet Explorer as your default browser, then try installing.
Otherwise switch off the internet and try installing.

You should not need the internet to install the program.

We download the program using the WebInstaller, if we choose Download only we can then access the download files and install manually, not via the WebInstaller.
That may be a better option.

How far did you get in trying to install the program, and do you still have the installation files on your pc. If yes, try installing again without internet, you may only get as far as inserting the serial number, but worth a try.

Trial version
Have you installed in the past, if no then that would be good enough to test installing.

Oh do you have any other version of VS installed?
