Just to add, if your problem is related to the windows updates then Corel did provide a fix which needs installing, usually after installing Cvsx8.

If this does not fix your issue, try running X8 with internet turned off………

Thanks ,all . After I was over my initial dismay, I went to the thread and found the corel hot fix. The program is updated and humming!
