Making adjustments in adjust mode X8
I am editing several photos and would like the adjustments on the left in adjust mode to retain what I last used on the previous image.
It works when I use Fill Light/Clarity but it's zeros when I adjust Brightness/Contrast.
Why?

Re: Making adjustments in adjust mode X8
The quick answer is, because that's how they designed it.
You may have made only one or two tweaks getting to Fill Light. I tried using a number of the tools in Adjust and when I first used Fill Light/Clarify the changed settings were retained. Then I used Digital Noise Removal, went back to Fill Light and all the settings were back at default. What you describe is the reason that I never, ever use the Adjust mode. I tried it when it was introduced and occasionally test in it but that is all. You never know where you are and there is no going back. It interferes with Edit as well. I have argued that Adjust mode should be done away with.
As far as I can tell anything that you do in Adjust can be done in Edit with the ability to undo, go back, in a variety of ways. And Edit has so many more tools and functions. Learning and using Edit pays big dividends in your workflow. So if you have not tried it yet, I suggest you explore.

I find adjust mode useful since I edit a large number of images from shows regularly and it displays a filmstrip at the botom. I'm familiar with edit and use it.
I just wish adjust retained settings from image to image. Oh well! Thank you Mark.

The film strip at the bottom is the Organizer. It is also available in Edit mode.grinolot wrote:I find adjust mode useful since I edit a large number of images from shows regularly and it displays a filmstrip at the botom. I'm familiar with edit and use it.

Also, the same effects that are available in Adjust Mode are available in Edit mode. Click on Palettes>Instant Effects and the same effects open in a palette. In Edit mode you also have the advantage of being able to create various layers and apply different effects to different layers for easy comparison of the results, use different blend modes, etc. Why Corel even bothers to have an Adjust tab as a separate workspace is beyond me.

Double left click or drag and drop.
But you can also select a number of images and drag them to the work space at the same time.
Or quickly double left click a number of images and have them on your workspace.
Or use Control left click to select different non sequential images and drag them onto the workspace.
Using Adjust you only work with one image at a time and as mentioned miss out on the advanced functions like layers.

You also have the ability to use plug-ins in Edit mode.

Or, in addition to the choices given, select one or more images in Organizer, right-click on one and select edit photo from the menu.grinolot wrote:How do i click on a photo in the organizer at the bottom and make it appear automatically in the edit window like it did in adjust?
Or, start in Manage mode, thumbnail mode, select one or more images then click on the Edit tab at the top. All selected images (up to 10?) will open in Edit. I like this because you see a screen full of images making it easier to decide and select.
When in Edit go to Windows in the menu and experiment with the different viewing options (tabbed, cascade, tile) to see which best suits you - you mentioned in the first post you are editing a number of images. Every user has his/her preferred way of setting up the program.

Re: Making adjustments in adjust mode X8
The adjust mode works very well for me since I'm editing over a thousand images from each show I shoot.
I hope they don't do away with it because it makes it very easy to click on an image on the organizer and have it appear larger in the work space and allow me to do some basic edits.
For the current show I'm working on, I am using rotate, fill light and brightness/contrast.
I spend less than a minute on each image I edit in adjust mode.
I will apply some other edits like salt and pepper filter, resize, etc.but that will be completed in batch.
