How to change color and not lose variations

Post by jparnold »

Hello

I want to change the color of an object in an image from a very very light grey to a more earthy light brown color without losing the slight variations (eg shadows) within that area of the image.
I know how to use the magic wand to select the area I want to modify and have Googled this question and tried unsuccessfully to use Adjust>Hue and Saturation>Hue/Saturation/Lightness.

I know there is a relatively simple way but I can't work out how it is done.

Please help.

Tahnks

The color changer tool is one option for this.

Really old tutorial I did once: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VlORsx-cYk

You could also try the change to target brush.

Thanks that.

Yes lurking beneath the Flood fill tool - completely missed it.
