I suddenly had the same problem - running on W8. Downloaded the Hotfix (vstudio.exe) but did not run it. Renamed the existing vstudio.exe to vstudio.exe.old and then copied the "new" vstudio.exe to the same folder. Rebooted and started VS 9 from the desktop. Splash screen appeared and sat there for 3 or 4 minutes with nothing happening and then it disappeared. After several more minutes, VS 9 suddenly opened. Quit VS9 and then restarted it. Splash screen appeared and the VS9 Home page apeared after 15 seconds or so. All libraries are there. So the hotfix does work - I just had to be patient

I've tried all the stuff in this thread, and still nothing.
I'm running Win7 and VideoStudio X9.5

I keep getting the same above errors, even after re-naming and replacing the .exe file.
So, is there a solution that actually works??

Welcome to the forum.

If you read all the posts in this thread, you will see that at least one solution has worked for a number of us, me included. But you will see that you have to wait around for quite a few minutes with nothing seeming to happen, then all of a sudden it works. Equally, however, that solution clearly has not worked for everyone, including yourself.

Anyway, as I said earlier in the thread, I asked Corel to come up with a solution urgently, so presumably they are working on it.

Next day: VS X9 seems to load quickly OK now, after the hotfix. The music libraries have disappeared as others have mentioned, and Corel needs to tell us how to bring them back. On load, Norton says the program is unsafe, and I have uploaded it to the Norton site to get it whitelisted (having given them a guarantee that it is safe - as if I know!). It seems that this is the only way to stop it getting flagged each time I want to load X9.

It is interesting that so many people have suddenly had the error, even though the hotfix has been out for 2 months and Norton said that fewer than 50 people in its community had used it. So maybe it was the latest Widows update that triggered it this time. My latest Windows update was 9/11/2016 (Australian/UK date order). I used X9 later in that day and it was OK. Yesterday, I used it OK (opening and closing it) once or twice, before I got the fail to load error. So it may have been the Windows update, but not with immediate effect, since I must have successfully loaded X9 at least three or four times after it.

Many thanks to our moderators for taking this further.
Jim.

Well...I was just about to sat that substituting the new file didn't work for me. The splash screen disappeared and then nothing happened...and then three or four minutes later the program opened!

I do have to say that just giving a download of an .exe file did not automatically say to me "move your old exe and put this one in, tho!
A little more explicit, people?

I will update if this does not continue to work.

Thanks for the help, everyone :-)

I'm sorry for what may be a foolish question, but what is the hotfix?

The hotfix worked for me. Thanks guys. Thanks for clarifying that it needed to replace the original exe file.

Thank you - this fix works for me on X9.5, however, I don't know if all features work as before. The issue now is that when starting the new vstudio.exe, Windows Defender reports that "Open File - Security Warning: The publisher could not be verified. This file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher." This is annoying.

Once the X9 program opens, after running checking for updates in X9, the program reports that there are no updates available. The new vstudio.exe is 19.5.0.35 (64-bit Ultimate) which I recall is the same version as before.

It sure would be nice if Corel addressed the issue of MS updates on Win10 breaking VS.

I don't think the problem is only W10 related. I had the same problem on W7 and W8 and the solution was the same as described in this thread. I have done no Windows updates for several weeks on any of my systems.

I'll throw my name in the hat as well. Nov 14 and VS9 produced the same "Get all failed" message running Win 7 64 bit. After several fails, Windows decided to run it in compatibility mode, which availed nothing. (Now I have to figure out how to undo THAT as well!)

Don't that just get all...

I'm going to try doing a system restore. I was already having issues with extended splash screen times, but it was intermittent. I'll post results.

VideoStudio X9.5 Ultimate Suddenly Won't Load

Post by MJB112016 »

Hello everyone! I have been using this new version of VStudio since August and have had no problems. I have all the patches installed, etc. I use the program several times a day. This evening I went to load the program and nothing came up except the warning message: "Get All items failed, result = 100". Then I tried again and got "Get All items failed, result = 300." Now I get nothing. I am really annoyed because I am in the middle of a major project. I have completely uninstalled VS9.5 and reinstalled it -- NOTHING. I also used the cleanup tool....Clean install....nothing!

I would be sooo grateful if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks again, and BTW, I have not installed any programs or made any changes to my pc in the last week or so, so this is a complete mystery. ANY help is appreciated!

I don't see my first post, but either way, doing a System Restore avails nothing, so I'm doubting a Windows update. But if not, what then?
